Braskem was honored for exceptional safety performance, operational excellence, and community stewardship.

Braskem, the largest polyolefins producer in the Americas and a market leader in biopolymers, is excited to announce that its Seadrift, Oyster Creek, and La Porte facilities have received six awards from the Texas Chemistry Council (TCC) for outstanding performance and commitment to safety, community, and sustainability in 2025.

Each year, the Texas Chemistry Council (TCC) and Texas Chemistry Alliance (TCA) honor member companies and individuals for their commitment to continuous improvement in safety performance and for their exceptional achievements within the chemical industry.

Loris Canahuati, U.S. Gulf Coast Industrial Director, Braskem and Chairman of the TCC Board of Directors remarked, "These awards reflect the dedication and the example our teams set for Braskem. We're focused not only on meeting the standard but raising it and proving that when safety comes first, everything else follows. Safety excellence is built daily through speaking up, following procedures, and leading with the mindset that nothing matters more than everyone going home safely."

The Seadrift site earned two awards: the Zero Incident Award and the Dr. Sam Mannan Award for Zero Process Safety Incidents. These awards highlight the site's exceptional operational discipline and its achievement of zero recordable safety and process incidents.

The Oyster Creek site received three awards including the Caring for Texas Award, Zero Incident Award, and the Dr. Sam Mannan Award which recognizes facilities that have a strong safety performance as well as its commitment to community engagement, emergency preparedness, and sustainability.

Lastly, the La Porte site received the Dr. Sam Mannan Award for Zero Process Safety Incidents, recognizing its strong process safety performance and commitment to maintaining safe and reliable operations.

Hector Rivero, President and CEO of the Texas Chemistry Council commented, "Braskem's recognition at the 2026 TCC Industry Awards Banquet reflects the company's strong commitment to safe operations, process safety excellence, and continuous improvement. TCC is proud to recognize Braskem for setting a strong example for our industry."
