-AGC’s high-performance Low-E glass and BIPV products will support the project’s target of reducing primary energy consumption by 75%
AGC Inc. will participate as one of the Japanese companies in a demonstration project jointly launched by the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization and The Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia to achieve a Nearly ZEB retrofit. AGC will contribute to the project by supplying high-performance Low-E glass and building-integrated photovoltaic products.
The demonstration project aims to reduce the primary energy consumption of SEDA Malaysia’s headquarters building, a 21-year-old office building, by 75% or more by leveraging Japanese energy-saving and renewable energy technologies. It is the first initiative in Malaysia to pursue ZEB conversion for an existing office building.
Products supplied by AGC
High-performance Low-E glass: “Stopray Vision 40T”
This product combines high visible light transmittance with solar control and thermal insulation performance. It helps maintain a comfortable indoor environment while providing a natural exterior appearance through low reflectivity.
BIPV products: “SunEwat Vision” and “SunEwat SUDARE”
These products generate electricity through window glass. They help support the introduction of renewable energy without compromising building design.
Through technologies in the fields of energy saving and power generation, AGC aims to propose solutions tailored to climate conditions and building use, and to contribute to decarbonization in Malaysia and across the ASEAN region.
