Ethylene prices march higher across Asia amid tight supply and firm seller offers

Last week, ethylene prices climbed across the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Ethylene prices increased as limited availability tightened the market and encouraged sellers to maintain firm offers. Demand was supported by buyers covering immediate requirements, although downstream purchasing remained cautious. Most factories continued to procure material only as needed, with no significant restocking activity observed.”

CFR Southeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 935-945/mt levels, a week on week increase of USD (+20/mt).

CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 995-1005/mt levels, higher by USD (+20/mt) from the previous week.

FOB Korea ethylene prices were assessed at USD 965-975/mt levels, while FOB Japan prices were assessed at USD 960-970/mt levels, with both benchmarks rising by USD (+30/mt) from the previous week.
