Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) prices rise across Asia amid higher offers and elevated feedstock costs

29 Jul 2026 14:30 IST
This week, PVC Suspension grade prices in Asia moved higher across the board, with firm gains recorded in Far East Asia, Southeast Asia and South Asia, supported by upward feedstock cost pressure and stronger producer offers.

An industry source in Asia, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Sentiment across Asian PVC markets firmed noticeably this week, with rising upstream costs supporting higher producer offers across both the Far East and Southeast Asia. The strongest gains were seen in the Indian market, where fresh offers from a major Taiwanese producer, alongside a domestic price revision, contributed to the pronounced uptick. Regional price disparities remain evident, however, with Chinese and other Asian-origin material continuing to compete aggressively on price in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.”

In Far East Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 760 to 810/mt CFR levels, moving sharply higher by USD (+60/+50/mt) compared to the previous week.

In Southeast Asia, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 740 to 800/mt CFR levels, rising, USD (+30/+50/mt) week on week.

In India, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 830 to 860/mt CFR levels, surging by USD (+90/+80/mt) from the previous week. Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) raised PVC prices by Rs.4/kg basic, with effect from July 27, 2026. The sharp upward move appears to reflect firmer producer offers into Indian ports coupled with the domestic price hike announced by a leading local producer, which is likely to have shaped sentiment across the market.

In Pakistan, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 760 to 810/mt CFR levels, firming, USD (+40/+20/mt) compared to the previous week.

In Sri Lanka, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 810 to 840/mt CFR levels, edging higher, USD (+30/+20/mt) from last week.

In Bangladesh, PVC Suspension grade prices were assessed at USD 810 to 850/mt CFR levels, increasing, USD (+60/mt) week on week.

On the offer front, in China, a major Taiwanese producer has offered its PVC Suspension grade at USD 810/mt levels, while in Southeast Asia the same producer has offered at USD 840/mt levels. In India, the Taiwanese producer has offered its PVC Suspension grade at USD 860/mt levels on CIF Nhava Sheva, Mundra and Chennai port basis for August 2026 shipment, on letter of credit at sight terms. In Sri Lanka, a Chinese producer has offered at USD 800/mt levels, while another Asian producer has offered at USD 840/mt levels. In Bangladesh, a Taiwanese producer has offered its PVC resin Suspension grade at USD 850/mt levels..

On the feedstock front, CFR Far East Asia EDC prices were assessed at USD 295 to 305/mt levels, rising, USD (+5/mt) week on week. CFR Southeast Asia EDC prices were assessed at USD 300 to 310/mt levels, gaining, USD (+5/mt) from the previous week. CFR Far East Asia VCM prices were assessed at USD 545 to 555/mt levels, moving higher, USD (+15/mt) week on week. CFR Southeast Asia VCM prices were assessed at USD 570 to 580/mt levels, firming, USD (+15/mt) from last week. In parallel, CFR Northeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 975 to 985/mt levels, an increase of USD (+40/mt) compared to the prior week, while CFR Southeast Asia ethylene prices were assessed at USD 915 to 925/mt levels, a gain of USD (+30/mt) from the previous week. The broad-based rise in upstream values may have contributed to the firmer sentiment observed across Asian PVC markets this week.
