Polypropylene (PP) prices slump in Asia amid lower feedstock costs and subdued trading

This week, PP prices plummeted across the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Market sentiment weakened amid easing supply concerns, lower feedstock costs, and a sharp week-on-week drop in Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE) futures. Buyers remained cautious, targeting lower-priced deals and delaying purchases in expectation of further price declines, which led to subdued trading activity.”

In Far East Asia, PP Raffia and Injection prices were assessed at USD 1080-1140/mt CFR levels, both sharply down by USD (-90/mt) from last week. Meanwhile, PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1110-1175/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at USD 1095-1150/mt CFR levels, both tumbled by USD (-90/mt) from the previous week. PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1090-1145/mt CFR levels, week-on-week plunged by USD (-110/mt).



In Southeast Asia, PP Raffia and Injection prices were assessed at USD 1100-1150/mt CFR levels, both tumbled by USD (-50/mt) from last week. PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1140-1200/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at USD 1130-1180/mt CFR levels, both sharply lower by USD (-50/mt) from the previous week. PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1150-1210/mt CFR levels, steeply lower by USD (-50/mt) from last week.



PP homopolymer grade was reportedly offered at USD 1020-1040/mt CFR levels. However, it could not be officially confirmed.

In India, PP Raffia and Injection prices were assessed at USD 1200-1250/mt CFR levels, both steeply down by USD (-70/-80/mt) from the previous week. PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1220-1280/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at USD 1210-1270/mt CFR levels, sharply lower by USD (-70/-80/mt) from last week. PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1220-1280/mt CFR levels, a steep decline of USD (-70/-80/mt) from last week.



Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has increased PP domestic and deemed export prices by Re.1/kg basic w.e.f. June 22, 2026.

Chinese and Vietnamese traders are heard to have offered their PP homopolymer grade at USD 1150-1170/mt levels. However, no deals were concluded at the quoted price levels. Meanwhile, assessed prices are based on the last traded price.

In Pakistan, PP Raffia and Injection prices were assessed at USD 1200-1250/mt CFR levels, both tumbled by USD (-80/mt) from last week. PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1230-1290/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at USD 1230-1290/mt CFR levels, both week-on-week plunged by USD (-80/mt). PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1260-1320/mt CFR levels, sharply down by USD (-60/-80/mt) from the previous week.

The latest offer for PP homopolymer grade has been heard at the USD 1150-1180/mt CFR levels China origin.

In Sri Lanka, PP Raffia and Injection prices were placed at USD 1220-1280/mt CFR levels, sharply lower by USD (-80/mt) from last week. PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1270-1350/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at USD 1270-1350/mt CFR levels, steeply lower by USD (-80/-70/mt) from the previous week. PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1300-1370/mt CFR levels, week-on-week sharply declined by USD (-60/mt).

In Bangladesh, PP Raffia and Injection prices were assessed at USD 1200-1280/mt CFR levels, a sharp week-on-week fall of USD (-70/-40/mt). PP Film prices were assessed at USD 1220-1310/mt CFR levels while BOPP prices were assessed at the USD 1220-1310/mt CFR levels, both down by USD (-70/-40/mt) from the previous week. PP Block Copolymer prices were assessed at USD 1280-1360/mt CFR levels, a week-on-week tumble of USD (-50/mt).

Propylene feedstock price assessments tracked a mostly softer trend. Propylene China was assessed at USD 965-975/mt CFR China levels, week-on-week plunged by USD (-100/mt). Propylene Korea was assessed at USD 935-945/mt FOB Korea levels, a sharp decline of USD (-100/mt) from last week.
