This week, HDPE prices in the Asia region displayed a varied pattern, with gains in some areas offset by losses elsewhere.
An industry source in Asia, on condition of anonymity, informed a Polymerupdate team member, “HDPE prices quoted mixed as downstream demand continued to remain subdued, with converters facing difficulty in transferring higher production costs to end users. Buying interest stayed cautious, leading to slower order confirmations and need-based procurement. Elevated costs further reduced buyers’ acceptance levels, weighing on overall market sentiment. At the same time, anticipated supply constraints tightened product availability in certain regions, lending some support to prices. However, expectations of a gradual recovery in operating rates in the coming weeks limited stronger upward momentum, resulting in a mixed market trend.”
