Propylene price rise in Asia amid tight supply conditions
Last week, propylene prices trended higher in the Asian region.
An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Propylene prices moved higher on the back of persistent supply tightness, with firmer seller indications continuing to support the upward trend. Limited spot availability kept the market firm despite relatively thin trading activity. Buyers largely stayed on the sidelines, closely monitoring ongoing geopolitical developments, which restrained active participation. Nonetheless, constrained supply and elevated offer levels were sufficient to push propylene prices higher.”
FOB Korea propylene prices were assessed at USD 1315–1325/mt levels, a week-on-week increase of USD (+20/mt).
CFR China propylene prices were assessed at USD 1325–1335/mt levels, higher by USD (+20/mt) from the previous week.
CFR Taiwan propylene prices were assessed at USD 1315–1325/mt levels, a week-on-week hike of USD (+50/mt).
CFR South East Asia propylene prices were assessed at USD 1395–1405/mt levels, an increase of USD (+40/mt) from the previous week.
