Bullish energy values and supply concerns drive Styrene monomer (SM) prices higher in Asia
On Thursday, SM prices in Asia moved higher, driven mainly by rising upstream energy prices and benzene feedstock rates.
The price increase was further driven by persisting supply concerns.
FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 1380-1390/mt levels, a rise of USD (+30/mt) from Wednesday’s assessed levels.
CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 1330-1340/mt levels, an increase of USD (+30/mt) from the previous day.
Meanwhile, FOB Korea benzene feedstock prices were assessed at USD 1150-1160/mt levels, a sharp day-on-day rise of USD (+45/mt).
