This week, LDPE spot prices trended lower in the European region.
An industry source in Europe informed a Polymerupdate team member, "Prices fell in line with a decline in ethylene feedstock contract prices. Decrease in offer levels from some domestic producers also supported the price fall."
The source added, “domestic supply has been able to meet most of the market's needs, resulting in low interest in import offers.”
In the spot markets, LDPE prices were assessed at the Euro 1105-1115/mt FD Northwest Europe mark, a week on week decline of Euro (-10/mt).

In the contract markets, General Purpose LDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1830-1835/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE Italy levels, both stable from last week. LDPE General Purpose grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1830-1835/mt FD NWE France levels, steady week on week. Meanwhile, LDPE grade prices were assessed at the GBP 1515-1520/mt FD NWE UK levels, a fall of GBP (-10/mt) from the previous week.

FCA Antwerp LDPE General Purpose film prices were assessed at the Euro 1090-1110/mt levels, a week on week drop of Euro (-10/mt).
Ethylene spot prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 765-775/mt FD North West Europe levels, steady from last week.
European ethylene feedstock contract price for December 2024 settled at the Euro 1205/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a fall of Euro (-7.50/mt) from its November 2024 settlement levels.
