This week, LLDPE prices declined in the European region.
A European industry source while requesting to remain unidentified informed a Polymerupdate team member, “The overall European (LLDPE) market outlook was bearish. Some deals were settled at lower price levels in the midst of sluggish demand and excess supplies. Buyers were driven to exercise caution while making purchase decisions even as demand from end-user industries remained persistently weak.”
In the spot markets, LLDPE prices were assessed at the Euro 1035-1045/mt FD Northwest Europe levels, a drop of Euro (-10/mt) from last week.
In the contract markets, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1590-1595/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE France levels, both falling by Euro (-15/mt) from last week. LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1590-1595/mt FD NWE Italy levels, week on week down Euro (-15/mt). Meanwhile, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the GBP 1345-1350/mt FD NWE UK levels, down GBP (-20/mt) from the previous week.
FCA Antwerp LLDPE film prices were assessed at the Euro 1020-1050/mt levels, a fall of Euro (-10/mt) from last week.
Ethylene spot prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 725-735/mt FD North West Europe levels, a marginal fall of Euro (-5/mt) from last week.
European ethylene feedstock contract price for June 2024 settled at the Euro 1220/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a drop of Euro 30/mt from its May 2024 settlement levels.
