Styrene monomer (SM) prices decline in Asia

On Monday, SM prices journeyed southward in the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, " Prices decreased on account of weaker upstream benzene prices coupled with bearish buying sentiments in the region."

FOB Korea SM prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1170-1180/mt levels, a drop of USD (-20/mt) from Friday's assessed levels.

CFR China SM prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1180-1190/mt levels, lower by USD (-20/mt) from Friday.

Meanwhile, upstream benzene prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1080-1090/mt FOB Korea levels, down USD (-10/mt) from Friday.
