Styrene monomer (SM) prices march higher in Asia

On Monday, SM prices journeyed northward in the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, " Prices increased on account of stronger upstream benzene prices coupled with improved buying sentiments in the region."

FOB Korea SM prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1160-1170/mt levels, an increase of USD (+30/mt) from Friday's assessed levels.

CFR China SM prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1170-1180/mt levels, higher by USD (+30/mt) from Friday.

Meanwhile, upstream benzene prices on Monday were assessed at the USD 1055-1065/mt FOB Korea levels, up USD (+15/mt) from Friday.
