Styrene monomer (SM) prices edge higher in Asia

On Tuesday, SM prices witnessed a gain in the Asian region.

An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Prices rose on account of bullish buying sentiments in the region.”

The source added, “A rise in upstream benzene values further pushed prices higher in the region.”

On Tuesday, FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at the USD 1165-1175/mt levels, a gain of USD (+5/mt) from Monday’s assessed levels.

CFR China SM prices on Tuesday were assessed at the USD 1175-1185/mt levels, up USD (+5/mt) from Monday.

Meanwhile, upstream benzene prices on Tuesday were assessed as at the USD 1070-1080/mt FOB Korea levels, a day on day rise of USD (+10/mt).
