This week, LLDPE spot prices declined in the European region.
An industry source in Europe informed a Polymerupdate team member, “A slackening purchase pulse weighed on European LLDPE spot market activity. A further decline in demand sentiments towards the end of October was evident as buyers burdened with excess inventories and having to deal with the pressure of tepid end-user consumption were reluctant to purchase additional material.”
In the spot markets, LLDPE prices were assessed at the Euro 1135-1145/mt FD Northwest Europe levels, a week on week fall of Euro (-10/mt).

In the contract markets, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1595-1600/mt FD NWE Germany and FD NWE France levels, both stable from last week. LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the Euro 1595-1600/mt FD NWE Italy levels, steady from the previous week. Meanwhile, LLDPE grade prices were assessed at the GBP 1385-1390/mt FD NWE UK levels, marginally lower by GBP (-5/mt) week on week.
FCA Antwerp LLDPE film prices were assessed at the Euro 1120-1150/mt levels, a week on week fall of Euro (-10/mt).
Ethylene spot prices on Thursday were assessed at the Euro 725-735/mt FD North West Europe levels, a week on week rise of Euro (+5/mt).
Feedstock ethylene contract price for November 2023 settled at the Euro 1215/MT FD North West Europe levels. This price represents a sharp fall of Euro 45/MT from its October 2023 settlement levels.
