High density polyethylene (HDPE) spot prices drift lower in Europe
This week, HDPE spot prices slipped in the European region.
A European industry source while requesting to remain unidentified informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Spot European HDPE prices were pressured lower owing to a weak demand sentiment and a softened market undertone as market participants gradually resumed business activities after the Easter break. Rising import cargoes from the Middle East added to the already plentiful supplies in the region, further driving prices downward.”
The source added, “With end-user demand remaining bleak, HDPE producers in the region were hesitant to raise output levels and had adopted a wait and watch approach to get a clear assessment of the market outlook.”
