Styrene monomer (SM) prices slip in Asia
On Tuesday, despite stronger upstream energy rates, SM prices fell sharply across Asia.
Weaker benzene feedstock prices and subdued demand across major regional markets further supported the price drop.
FOB Korea SM prices were assessed at USD 1120-1130/mt levels, plunging by USD (-40/mt) from Monday’s assessed levels.
CFR China SM prices were assessed at USD 1140-1150/mt levels, a sharp decline of USD (-30/mt) from the previous day.
Meanwhile, FOB Korea benzene feedstock prices were assessed at USD 980-990/mt levels, day-on-day down by USD (-20/mt).
