Polypropylene (PP) is a thermoplastic polymer used in a wide variety of applications including packaging and labelling, textiles (e.g., ropes, thermal underwear and carpets), stationery, plastic parts and reusable containers of various types, laboratory equipment, loudspeakers, automotive components. Major grades of PP are homopolymer, random copolymer and impact copolymer. Homopolymer is used in applications such as injection and blow moulding, IPP and BOPP films, woven sacks, FIBC and fibres. Random copolymer grades are used to meet critical requirements of injection and blow-moulded clear containers, pipes and fittings and ISBM bottles. Impact Copolymer grades are used in applications such as automotive, appliances, furniture, paint pails, caps and closures, luggage, crates and compounding.
