Petrochemical industry | 25 Nov 2021 08:30 IST | Polymerupdate.com

Despite stronger upstream crude and naphtha rates, Ethylene prices were assessed lower in Asia on Wednesday. The price fall was attributed to dull buying trends in the region and weaker downstream PE demand trends.

CFR North East Asia ethylene prices were assessed at the USD 1120-1125/mt levels, a drop of USD (-15/mt) from Tuesday’s assessed levels.

CFR South East Asia ethylene prices were assessed lower at the USD 1030-1035/mt levels, a day on day decline of USD (-15/mt).

In plant news, Shell, has taken off-stream its cracker in early November 2021 for a maintenance turnaround. Located in Pulau Bukom, Singapore, the cracker has an ethylene capacity of 1.15 million mt/year and a propylene capacity of 500,000 mt/year.
