Propylene prices climb in Asia on Monday

Petrochemical industry | 23 Feb 2021 08:30 IST | Polymerupdate.com

Stronger upstream crude and naphtha values, coupled with tight product availability in the region, pushed propylene prices higher in Asia on Monday.

Firmer buying sentiments in key markets like china and bullish downstream PP pricing and demand trends, further supported the price gain.

FOB Korea propylene prices were at the USD 990-995/mt levels, a rise of USD 5/mt last Friday's assessed levels.

CFR China propylene prices were assessed higher at the USD 1010-1015/mt levels, a gain of USD 10/mt from last Friday.

In plant news, Zhejiang Petrochemical, has taken off-stream its propane dehydrogenation (PHD) unit in Zhoushan, Zhejiang, in mid-February 2021, for a maintenance turnaround. Located at Zhoushan, Zhejiang, China, the PDH unit has a propylene capacity of 600,000 mt/year.
