Benzene prices edge higher in Asia
Last week, despite bearish upstream crude rates, benzene prices were assessed higher in Asia. The price rise was supported by a lift in buying sentiments coupled with gains recorded in downstream SM values.
Reports of limited product avails, further supported the price fall.
On Friday, benzene prices were assessed up at the USD 655/mt FOB Korea levels, a rise USD 5/mt from the previous week.
Downstream SM prices were assessed higher at the USD 825/mt FOB Korea levels, a week on week increase of USD 5/mt.
In the US, benzene prices on Friday were at the 232.90 cents/gallon FOB US Gulf mark, a gain of 1.95 cents/gallon from the previous week.
