This week, Spot HDPE Film and BM prices down adjusted, while other HDPE grade prices quoted flat in the European region.
An industry source in Europe informed a Polymerupdate team member, "A subdued sentiment was seen across the European HDPE market owing to weak demand and ample supplies. Though there was a slight dip in prices, market fundamentals exhibited minimal shift with consumer appetite for spot cargoes waning with the year drawing to a close. Converters were opting to hold limited inventories ahead of planned holiday outages in December. Meanwhile, domestic supply avails were deemed sufficient to cater to most market requirements, tempering the interest for import cargoes."
The source added, "Traders were seen taking active efforts in offloading material. While reports surfaced of competitive offers for US-origin HDPE material, extended transit times for cargo arrivals, with material expected to be shipped next year, lessened the appeal of these offers for buyers."
