Ethylene prices edge higher in North East Asia
On Thursday, ethylene prices were assessed up in North East Asia.
CFR North East Asia ethylene prices on Thursday were assessed at the USD 770-780/mt levels, a day on day gain of USD (+5/mt). An industry source in Asia informed a Polymerupdate team member, “Prices gained on account of improved buying sentiments in the region.”
CFR South East Asia ethylene prices on Thursday were assessed at the USD 835-845/mt levels, unchanged from Wednesday.
In plant news, PTT Global Chemical (PTTGC) has recently shut its I-4 No.2 cracker for a maiuntenance turnaround. Further details on the duration of the shutdown could not be ascertained. Located at Map Ta Phut, Thailand, the No.2 cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 400,000 mt/year.
